Paul Chaput releases his new CD
" George Dandin-le mari confondu"

MÉTIS MUSICIAN PAUL CHAPUT RELEASES HIS THIRD CD, "" George Dandin-le mari confondu"" Paul is organising the release of his new CD in October 2007 in Toronto and Montreal. The CD features songs composed for Molier"s play George Dandin: Le Mari Conondu Produced by le Theatre Francais Toronto in the spring of 2007.

PAUL CHAPUT RELEASED HIS SECOND CD, "OLD LOVERS" AT THE RIVOLI, THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 9TH 2004

The music of Paul Chaput is traditional folk by way of jazz, blues, and aboriginal traditions. Producer Paul Mills of The Millstream states that "Paul Chaput's
music is highly original, poetic, spiritual and
heart-felt. Beautiful melodies built around intricate
guitar accompaniment round out the package."
Chaput's compositions, singing and playing style
reflect the breadth of his experience as a Métis
artist who has been writing and performing for over
thirty years. His CD Old Lovers laments lost love, explores the roots of the relationships between men
and women and "makes profound statements about human beings' existence in relation to the environment" (Neil Armstrong, CHRY). Accompanying Chaput on
this album are: Jason Fowler on guitar, Anne Lindsay
on fiddle and Quebecois performer Michel Viau on stand-up bass. Jason Fowler is an award-winning backing musician and busy session guitarist who has also released four solo CDs. Anne Lindsay's violin/fiddle style flavours the sound of bands like Blue Rodeo, Oh Susanna, Natalie McMaster and the Chieftains. Paul's CD Old Lovers offers traditional flair in combination with this accomplished group of performers.

Paul Chaput est a accompagné par Anne Lindsay au violon, Jason Fowler à la guitare et Michel Viau à la contrebasse.
Michel accompagne Paul depuis bientôt 5 ans. Jason Fowler est un guitariste virtuose. En 2003 il s'est mérité le prix CEC McEchern comme musicien accompagnateur exeptionnel. Il a enregistré quatre albums solo. Anne Lindsay, en plus de se présenter en concert un peu partout au pays, a participé aux enregistrements de groupes tels que: Blue Rodeo, Oh Susanna, Natalie McMaster, The Chieftains et bien d
'autres. C'est avec cette équipe de musiciens hors pairs que Paul Chaput nous présente son album, Old Lovers.
